Kylie's Post-Cancer Comeback

Kylie Minogue's British comeback gigs sold out in just six minutes Friday.

Shortly afterwards, £55 ($100) tickets went on sale on eBay for £599 ($1,100) for two, ready to earn a healthy profit for the seller.

The Australian singer, 38, who is recovering from breast cancer, is to play London's Wembley Arena in the last shows of her "Showgirl Homecoming" world tour.

Fans jammed phone lines when tickets went on sale at 9 a.m., the UK's Press Association reported.

The original shows were scheduled for January 2 and 3. Two further shows were then announced for January 5 and 6 and the demand was so great that the venue's computer system crashed, PA said.

Promoters went on then to add two final dates for January 8 and 9.

Minogue's live agent Dave Chumbley told PA: "The demand for Kylie is absolutely phenomenal and these are the fastest selling shows I have ever experienced.

"It will be fantastic to see Kylie back on stage again."

The star was forced to halt her "Showgirl Tour" in May last year when she was diagnosed with cancer. She will begin her rescheduled dates in Sydney on November 11.

Minogue is working on a new album for possible release next year.

Last month her tour manager, Michael Gudinski, managing director of the Frontier Touring Co., announced a series of concerts in Australia, saying he had just returned from meetings with the singer in London.

"She's definitely through the worst of everything, she's so determined and she can't wait to see you all," Gudinski said.

"Obviously she's still got a few mountains to climb, but we're very, very confident that the tour will be going ahead in November."

Minogue had completed dates on her "Showgirl Tour" in Europe and was heading to Australia for homecoming concerts when she was diagnosed with cancer in May 2005.

She underwent surgery to remove a lump from her breast and is reportedly still undergoing cancer treatment.

Gudinski said the November 11-December 17 concert series in Australia would begin the "Showgirl Homecoming" tour and that Minogue's work commitments would be lighter because of her illness.
